![]() I'm not sure about what may be causing your painful muscles, but I think it would not be unreasonable to assume that you're holding a lot of muscle tension, considering the amount of "balls in the air" you're dealing with, you poor soul. Also, my back responds well to general stretching exercises. Most recently I have found much relief from the treatment of my exceptional chiropractor. They feel worse when I was been inactive due to a bad flare from Lyme disease. The scar tissues bunches I have near the bottom of my spine (lumbar) can sometimes become painful to the touch. It was your descript ion "like rubber balls under the skin" that immediately made me think of the few bunches of scar tissue I developed after a significant car crash that resulted in moderate-severe whiplash and a what was called a "twisting spinal injury." The first thing that came into my mind was scar tissue the second thing, muscle spasms. The last physical therapist I worked with put ice on them but that didn't do much either. I was weak and exhausted and just felt bad.Īnyone have any tips on what to do about these things? I have tried the TENS machine, I take a detox bath every day, I just don't know what to do anymore. I am not sure what she released but it wasn't anything good. ![]() I went straight home after that and was in bed for three days. ![]() I went to a massage therapist for them once and she worked on them for an hour. Heat seems to help some but they never go away. They are painful, sometimes they get what I think of as "extra tight" and I feel them pulling on my neck and shoulders. I was told a long time ago that they are called trigger points, places in the muscle where the muscle has bunched up a bit, like a little muscle contraction. My husband can move them (a little) when he rubs my back. Does anyone get these? I have over a dozen in my back, they feel like rubber balls under the skin.
